Handworked Silver ring set with a Brazilian Amethyst 8x6mm oval cut gemstone. The ring was handmade in Kathmandu with a number of quite nice handmade touches, in the embellishments on the upper band where it meets the setting, and in the excellent twist-wire work around the base of the setting.
Kathmandu being what it is, both the Silver and the gemstone is imported into the country for the creation of a jewel such as this. The artisans of Kathmandu Valley are renowned for the creation of finely wrought items such as this ring. ( The artisans of the Valley are renowned for other skills as well, e.g the creation of exquisite bronze statuary.)
This ring has no 925 stamp, but is definitely Sterling Silver.
