Baroque Keshi Pearl, Ruby and small Diamond, and Gold.
Keshi is a secondary process, when the initial attempt at creating a Pearl, by inserting into the mollusk an irritant which the mollusk will isolate by covering it with its protective secretion of nacre, the substance of Pearl, has failed; the irritant is rejected but the mollusc continues to secrete nacre and a Pearl is created without any core, or nucleus, to dictate some roundness of form; hence the formation of a Pearl freeform, and solid, with no centre core, simply all nacre.
The end result is a baroque Pearl, consisting of nothing but nacre, that is harder, tougher, more durable than ordinary Pearl, and possessed of particularly fine lustre.
Keshi Pearl can come from anywhere in the world producing cultivated nucleated Pearl. The above Baroque Keshi Pearl pair have their source in Japan; they are of excellent lustre and have a characteristic silvery-white sheen. (The word “keshi” is a Japanese word, meaning “poppy”.)

Keshi Pearl is rare, beautiful, durable and costly.

The 9ct Gold “butterfly” post clips are $80 pair and are included in the above price. Replacing them with 18ct Gold “butterfly” post clips will add $80 to the cost.
