Antique 1903 English Silver earrings. The hallmark stamps on the above earrings are very clear: the anchor for Birmingham, the lion passant being the English Silver mark, the framed small-case “d” the Birmingham letter stamp of the year 1903.
The centre scene, ornately, even classically framed, is of a cherub bestowing a kiss to a woman in the clouds. A kiss of life? A kiss awakening love? An echo of the pre-Raphaelite movement decades before?
The design would have been imprinted by stamp.
