Onyx Screw-Ons, the black gemstones cut cabochon in ovals 14mm x 7mm.
The settings are handmade in Silver (the screw-on fittings are also Silver), after a classic late Victorian design. The workmanship is of very high quality. A Gold wash has been applied to the finished article, simulating a subtle Old Gold look.

The above Onyx Screw-Ons were sourced from an American mail order firm specializing in jewellery based on antique and even ancient jewellery designs. Just where they were actually crafted could not be ascertained but the high quality of the work would indicate either Thailand or China. Certainly they were not crafted in some country of high wages; work of this calibre has not been produced in Silver for decades in any “western” land.
