In the above distinctively elongated eardrops these Turquoise Tubes are matched with the fine deep saturated orange-red of native-cut gemstone Corals from the Mediterranean. There are many attractive gemstone combinations; that of Turquoise and Coral is ancient. Tibetans, for example, for whom Turquoise is a sacred gemstone – there are a number of ancient and still-working Tibetan Turquoise mines – value highly the effect of these two gemstones worn together, the Turquoise their own and the Coral coming through to them from the China Sea, historically, and latterly, from the early 1900s, from the Mediterranean.
