3grams Tibetan Amber, a lovely old “butterscotch” bead, so typically Tibetan in its cloudy yellow colours and its tactile rounded form. Originating in the Baltic Sea region of Northern Europe, this opaque yellow Amber found great favour in Tibet when introduced through 19th.century traders. This particular 3grams Tibetan Amber bead is very old judging by the largeness and smooth wear of its hole endings, and would date back to the early 1900s.
The two flanking yellow resin beads are Moroccan and have some age, probably dating to the 1960s.
Silver spacers are old Afghani tribal, handmade, from the Ghazni border area of eastern Afghanistan, high Silver content.
The Silver “rope” chain is new, quite flexible, 1.7mm thick. The chain end cap without the hook clasp can be unscrewed, and all the beads removed. (Unscrewing and screwing should be done with care, to avoid damaging the rifling on the chain end and inside the cap arm.)
