Amber Bead bracelet created in Sydney with English Antique Baltic Amber of fine translucent deep honey colour, hand-cut in the late 1800s.
Strung on tiger-tail, plastic-coated wire, very strong and good for round shape retention.
Silver end ring and spring clasp. Centre-bead dimensions 17mm x 12mm, smaller beads approx 8mm x 5mm.

Amber Bead Bracelet made up of a centre cut oval bead and twenty-four smaller cut beads all with flat endings. The Amber Bead bracelet is created in Sydney using English Antique handcut Baltic honey Amber beads collected in England. The twenty-four smaller flat-end beads all originally would have been from one strand; the larger ovoid bead would have come from another strand. All twenty-five of these lovely honey-coloured beads date back to the late 1800s.
The 1880s was peak period in England for necklaces of Baltic Amber. Both the honey-coloured and the yellow, “butterscotch”, colour varieties were immensely popular. The honey-coloured Amber was always cut, with facets, as seen in the above Amber Bead bracelet, while the opaque yellow variety was always cut ovoid, approximately in the same sort of shape as the above centre-bead
