Ancient Cut Turquoise in a Sydney-created necklace with gemstone Corals and Silver.
The combination of the fine natural colours of these two gemstones is visually satisfying. The Tibetan people have treasured it for centuries, combining their own locally mined sacred Turquoise with the orange-reds of gemstone Coral from the seas off Japan and China, traded into their fastness through China.
The origin of the seven Turquoise in the above Ancient Cut Turquoise strand is Arizona. The rough uncut Turquoise rock, purchased by gemstone traders from Jaipur (Rajasthan, India), has been handcut in Jaipur in the ancient Bactrian bead form known from the archeological digs across the north of Afghanistan over the last hundred years or so.
The lovely matched gemstone Coral is of Mediterranean Sea origin. Coral from the waters off Japan and China served Asia for thousands of years but is now extremely rare.
Note: the Turquoise and Coral in the above strand are completely natural, totally untreated.
