Vintage 9ct Gold English chain, made in London or Birmingham over thirty years ago. The hallmarks are stamped on one of the closed Gold rings at the spring clasp; the date stamp of a boxed S is clear enough, showing that the hallmark date was 1992, but London and Birmingham used the same date letter stamps from the year 1975, and the provenance stamp is not clear enough to discern whether it is definitely the leopard head of London or definitely the anchor of Birmingham, though the roundness of the blurred stamp would lean to the interpretation of the London leopard head.
The above Vintage 9ct Gold chain is quite fine, the links 1.6mm across, machine made with flattened surfaces on the outsides of the links, enhancing its glint when moved. 48cms length,
The chain is 2.4 grams in weight, and is priced at a little less than would be an Italian machine-made 9ct Gold chain of the same weight, as of December 2024.
