The best-known source for gemstone Moonstone is from the same part of the world as India, namely Ceylon, or Sri Lanka, the large island state off the southern tip of the sub-continent. The Sri Lankan Moonstone does not have the “cat’s eye” of the Indian gemstone, but often has a very appealing blue tinge.
