Smart White Gold earrings, solid and cute. The solid, slightly compressed ball of White Gold is 6.5mm round and 4.7mm thick. The two small bright white, brilliant-cut Diamonds, set by a Sydney master gemstone setter, are bead set, the beads created out of the deeply incised star-burst pattern around the Diamonds.
The earrings are only 14mm in total length, so quite small overall, and light in weight at 3 grams in the pair.
3 grams of 9ct White Gold, of premium Palladium alloy mix, while being very comfortably light in weight for the wearer, does, however, inevitably have a cost reflecting the present world price of Gold, at February 2025 at its highest ever, and showing no signs whatsoever of stopping its inexorable rise. The price of Gold has been constantly and consistently rising for the last twelve months at least, with no signs of slowing.
This non-stop rise in the cost of Gold will inevitably seriously impact the business of jewellery, and will definitely negatively impact the business of jewellery involving Gold content. (The price of Silver is also rising on the world market, but not so precipitously as that of Gold.) Already one is seeing greater and greater volumes of “Gold Coloured” and “Silver Coloured” jewellery in every shopping centre, almost all of it imported from low labour cost regions.
