The Garnet Crystal family is large and complex, with a wide colour range: the bright green of Uvarovite; orange-yellow of Hessonite; fiery red of Pyrope; wine-red of Almandine; and quite a few other variations.
The large Garnet pair in the above Elegant Handmade Gold earrings are of the Almandine variety, probably the best known and most favourite of all the Garnet types, used as a gemstone since ancient times. This pair comes out of old stock, sourced in Jaipur Rajasthan, one of the most important gemstone distribution centres of India, in the late 1980s/early 1990s. These are fine translucent gemstones, without eye-visible inclusions, and possessing an excellent depth of red, without orange. Such quality in large Almandine Garnet is, in the 2020s, difficult to source.

The solid 9ct Gold settings are very nicely handcrafted in Sydney, professionally set in Sydney. The fixed earhook type of earring seen here has been crafted since forever, used in ancient Etruscan jewellery and in the days of the Roman Empire. When done nicely, as in this lovely pair, it is indeed an elegant setting.
