Sapphire Squares, Australian solid deep blue. It is a very interesting look, this pair of earstud pendants, unusual with its two forms of hemisphere and diamond shapes that work well together because of the base straight line of the hemisphere. There is a look about this pair of the exuberant “neo-classical” creations of a handful of great London jewellery houses of the mid 1800s.
Note: 3.2 grams of solid 9ct Gold in the above Sapphire Squares/solid Gold earstud drops, not including the 9ct Gold post “butterfly” clips. That 3.2 grams of 9ct Gold, if melted down to a Gold blob, is worth almost $Aus200 at world Gold prices April 2025.
Note also that the above-mentioned 9ct Gold post “butterfly” clip is an Italian import, not manufactured in Australia, and is the only element in these interesting earstud pendants that is not fully Australian.
