Russian Antique Silver beads, in earrings created in Sydney.
Crafted around the late 1800s, very early 1900s (and certainly no later than 1917, for no such work was ever done again in Russia after that year), the above Russian Antique Silver beads probably formed part of a necklace.
The hand-working of these beads is exquisite: each bead is made of two attached hemispheres, the hemispheres divided into four segments of Art Nouveau design. The decorative work around the girdle of each bead, of very finely tooled wire-work and granulations, was gilded with Gold, which after all these years is nicely muted.
The making of these rare Russian Antique Silver beads into earrings is Sydney work, all handmade save for the four plain London-made Silver beads at the ends of the Russian beads.
