The ring has been recently re-priced to better reflect the current world Gold price, as of December 2024. If a retail jewellery business dealing in Gold wishes to stay in business, then the retail price must more or less reflect the cost of replacement.
Note, looking again at the the pricing of Gold items, April 2025, some four months after the above paragraph was created, it is abundantly evident that the $685 present price is simply not reflective of the present cost of replacement of this ring. If a prospective client currently were to request two such Sydney-crafted Plain 9ct Rose Gold bands, e.g the above and another in a different ring size, the second would cost the prospective client at least 30% more than the original, even though the second might be three or four sizes smaller and therefore requiring less weight in Gold. And that 30% extra would be no incentive whatsoever to invest money in creating a Gold item which might not attract a buyer for one year, or two years, or three or more. And believe it, it can take years and years of holding a retail jewellery item before purchase.
If such a scenario as the above were to play out, it would be the last time this ring would appear on the Christopher William site so long as the world Gold price remained at the present elevated levels.
