Medieval French Design: difficult to say how far back the design goes, probably back to the High Middle Ages centreing around 1200ad, when a general urbanization in Europe occurred with a concomitant prosperity and flourishing of the arts.
The eardrops above are created by soldering together two identical round pierced convex sections, making pendants of a pleasant fullness of design, interesting from any angle.
The 9ct Gold earring pendants created in Sydney. The 9ct Gold “continental” safety clip ear hooks are from Italy, as there exists no producer of these fittings in Australia.
Note: these imported 9ct Gold safety hooks are costly. And the two lovely round pierced pendants are not skimpy in their making, coming in at almost 3 grams of 9ct Gold, without the safety hooks. In pierced Gold jewellery such as these “Medieval French” eardrops, when the thickness of the Gold used is not sufficient, dents will occur easily, with any knock.
And Gold is Gold. Interesting to note how much advertised “Gold” product out there is actually, at best, silver gold-plated.
