Gold Cable Link Chain, with wine-red Garnets, a smart, simple and precious necklace.
The slim 9ct Gold curb-link chain, imported from Italy, 1mm thick and quite sturdy, purchased from a Sydney supplier of such imported Gold chains, specifically to carry the two-Garnet centre-piece, despite the cost of Gold being presently at a daunting high. (It is not feasible to think that the cost of Gold will appreciably decrease any time soon.)

The two Garnets in the above necklace are very fine examples of the wine-red colour variety of the Garnet crystal family, beautifully translucent and clean gemstones. These Garnets are of Indian origin; India has been the world’s main source for this type of Garnet for a hundred years, and still is, but nowadays it has become difficult to obtain the fine quality of the above two gemstones. These two Garnets were purchased three decades ago or more, when this clean quality was normal, rather than the more murky, less vivid material commonly offered today.
