Emerald Native Cut, with Sapphires, in a strand professionally strung in Sydney on multi-strand silk thread, knotted each bead, finished in Silver end rings and spring clasp.
The term “native cut” viz-a-viz beads simply refers to gemstone beads that have been hand-cut to an approximately similar shape, with no bead exactly the same as another. As is the case with the above Emerald Native cuts, the beads are usually machine tumble-polished. The same technique has been used in the nineteen blue Sapphire “pebble” beads of the above strand.
The Emerald and Sapphire beads above are opaque, all heavily, naturally included, and as such considered not useful as gemstones to be set in precious metal, but totally appropriate as genuine green Emerald and blue Sapphire beads for stranding.
These Emerald Native cuts are of Brazilian origin, the blue Sapphire material is of Thai origin; all the beads have been handcut in Jaipur Rajasthan. The small baroque Pearls are of Chinese origin.
54.5ct in the Emerald native cuts, 21.5ct in the nineteen Sapphire pebbles.
