Emerald .33ct. Emerald is one of the great fabled gemstones, rare and precious and beautiful. And unlike all the other great and fabled gemstones, Ruby and Diamond and Sapphire, it is not tough. It requires care.
Natural Emerald (and this above pair is natural, not man-made) is naturally included, with fractures, crystals and needles embedded within the Emerald gemstone itself. The French “jardin” -garden- is used to refer to this phenomenon. The inclusions can cause an Emerald to fracture if it is knocked in just the wrong place, with enough force.
Earstuds and earrings are naturally less susceptible to this problem, simple because they tend not to get knocked.
