Blue Gemstone Rocks, Lapis Lazuli and Turquoise. These two gemstones are the only ones classified as “rocks” in the gemstone world; most gemstones are crystalline, with a half-dozen classified as organic, like Pearl and Amber and Coral. It just so happens that they both have very characteristic versions of the colour blue.
In ancient times these two gemstone rocks originated in approximately the same geographical region, the Lapis from N.E.Afghanistan, the Turquoise from east Iran, not that far distant from each other on the map but in ancient times worlds apart and many weeks in arduous travel.
The Lapis Lazuli in the above Blue Gemstone strand has its source in those ancient mines of N.E.Afghanistan, however the Turquoise comes from one of the dozen or so active mines of Arizona. Both the Turquoise and the Lapis Lazuli are natural, untreated gemstones.

Note: each of the three Silver bead segments consists of five beads: a larger round old Afghani tribal Silver bead flanked with solid granulated Silver beads, and finished with London-made 2.5mm round Silver beads.
