Ancient Link. This figure-of-eight type of chain, each kink a double link crafted from a single length of wire cut to a particular length, has been used by artisanal chain makers for thousands of years. The above Ancient Link Silver chain was handcrafted in Maharashtra, western India, some time around the mid 1900s, using Silver wire of a very sturdy 1mm thickness. The end rings and half-S clasp, also of handcrafted Silver and equally traditional, is relatively new, fashioned in the Jaipur area of Rajasthan.
The chain has been tested in Sydney at close to 90% Silver content.
