1881 Victoria Silver coin pendant; a British Raj two-anna coin made into a pendant in Rajasthan west India in the early 1900s by tribals who valued these coins for their known high Silver content (91.6% purity)
Note: Victoria was by this stage in her career not simply Queen, but Empress, as stated on British India Silver coinage after “the Mutiny” of the 1850s against the rule, with the connivance of the London government, of the British East India Company over India. The uprising so disturbed London that the control of the Company over the prized colonial possession was ended and direct English government rule began. The queen’s image on the above much worn old Silver coin pendant is flanked by “Victoria” and “Empress”, just discernible.
