Emerald Simplicity in a Sydney created and crafted ring of solid 9ct White Gold, clean and smart in design.
Emerald is found in many parts of the world, in South America, Africa, Afghanistan and the sub-continent etc etc. In ancient times the main source was Egypt, and it remained so right up to the discovery of Emerald in Brazil and Columbia thousands of years after the ancient Egyptian mines were first worked.
The natural green Emerald in the above ring has its source in Africa, in Zambia, these days producing excellent Emerald gemstone material.
There are many man-made simulants, synthetics and fakeries of Emerald on the market; the most successful of these is the “Created Emerald” which is grown to have the same chemical composition as the genuine article. These “Created” Emeralds are without inclusions, unlike any genuine Emerald gemstone, and, above all, simply do not have quite the right green, the right colour, the right colour saturation. They are certainly green, just not quite the right green.
