Lapis Lazuli Tube of natural deep blue, origin the ancient mines of north-east Afghanistan, the source of this fabled gemstone rock for all the ancient world. In Ancient Egypt four thousand years ago Lapis was used in fabulous inlay work in Gold, together with Turquoise. Indeed, the combination of the deep blue of Lapis Lazuli, the light sky blue of Turquoise and the reddish brown of Carnelian had great significance for the Ancient Egyptians.
