The term “commercial” sometimes used in the grading of natural Emerald refers to size, to anything, usually, below .25ct in weight. The gemstone in the above Compact Emerald Pendant is “AGrade Commercial” quality, small but of excellent natural emerald-green colour, sharp and vivid, of high translucence and clean of face.

Note also that the Emerald gemstone is deeply bedded in its setting, making for considerable protection. The less Emerald is exposed to knocks, the better; natural Emerald is characteristically highly included, and this can lead to weaknesses in the crystal formation.
