Pierced Rose Gold ring set with six round Brilliant White Diamonds, created and crafted in Sydney. The design concept for the above 9ct Pierced Rose Gold ring came from a Victorian English Gold band of similar dimensions and similar open floral scrolling form, with no gemstone settings. The 3.5mm width of the band allowed for the creation of sturdy little bezel settings for 1.70 to 1.75mm round gemstones at regular intervals around the circumference, six such settings; this gemstone size usually posing no problem in Sydney in the sourcing of matching sets of six.
The 9ct Rose Gold of this ring is very pleasant. The colour is obtained by alloying the Gold with Copper, but the mix must be right, for too little Copper barely works, and too much is worse, creating an almost lurid metallic pink. With wear, the Rose Gold of the above ring will darken slightly, pleasantly; interestingly, 18ct Rose Gold tends, with wear, to darken rather more than the 9ct.
As is evident in the images for the above Pierced Rose Gold ring, the band is quite solid, not hollowed out at all at the rear.
Note: the ring has a plain, un-pierced section to allow for ease in re-sizing.
