Water Spiral Pendant Brooch in solid Sterling Silver.
A design inspired by the work of Scandanavian artesans in Silver jewellery in the post WWII period of the 1950s/60s/70s, work which found its impetus in the flowing forms of nature itself. The above Water Spiral Pendant Brooch depicts in Silver the spiralling form of water falling.
At the time jewellery forms such as the above were revolutionary, embraced only by the truly avante garde, and even now, decades later, many would find a design such as the above too spare, too minimal. The piece has beauty, however, and serves well as both pendant and brooch. The second-last image in the above image gallery shows the rear, with the excellently crafted brooch mechanism.
Note: the last image in the gallery depicts the pendant on a Silver tork, a solid Silver neck-piece open at rear. A deceptively simple necklet, this piece is shaped very cleverly and works well on almost all neck configurations. It is a necklet which can be worn, quite simply, on its own, with its own elegance, or it can be used to carry a pendant.
