Much fine metal craftsmanship comes out of Kathmandu Valley, in bronzes using the laborious lost wax process, in wrought metal work, in jewellery. Traditional crafts are handed down generation to generation, and most of the families involved in handmaking jewellery in and around Kathmandu originally worked for the royal family and its courtiers.
