Square Old Tribal Moroccan Silver. Quite how old this pendant is is difficult to judge for the work is very traditional, having hardly changed in style and method over the last one hundred and fifty odd years. However, the pendant, though in good condition, has been much worn, the enamelling shows wear, and the old Silver dirham coin pendants date back to the 1950s or before, so definitely the above old Silver Tribal pendant was created at least seventy/eighty years back.
This is traditional Berber work. Mostly this sort of strongly-styled Berber Silver jewellery comes from the Anti-Atlas mountain range where that part of the Atlas spears down into the south-west of the kingdom.
The Emerald greens and the Ruby red centre are, again traditionally, glass.
Handmade Silver chain 61cms length is included in the price. It is a useful Silver chain, new, well-made, modelled upon a late 1800s Arts and Crafts chain design. It works well with the Square Old Tribal pendant, and complements the original old connecting links between the two coin drops.
