Silver Flow in a pendant of solid Sterling Silver.
One of the most eminent jewellery designers of the twentieth century was Vivianna Torun, an innovator in contemporary modern Silver design, internationally recognized from the 1950s -Picasso and Billie Holiday were photographed with her and wearing her jewellery- and in the late 1960s began collaborating with the Danish jewellery house of Georg Jensen.
It was Torun who, entranced and inspired by the form and fluid vitality of flowing water, created designs similar to the above “Silver Flow” pendant, and inspired a radical new approach to jewellery design.
The last image in the above gallery shows the finely sculptured rear of the pendant, a stylish mirror of the front.
Note: the penultimate image in the above gallery shows the pendant on a solid Silver tork; solid and curved and open at the back, this tork is a very useful item of jewellery, for it can be worn completely on its own, elegant and simple, and it can carry a pendant if so desired.
