Silver Cherub pendant. The term “cherub” nowadays refers to the kind of chubby winged child of the above Silver Cherub Pendant, but should rightly be called a Putto, a conceit originating in Classical Antiquity, a winged child associate of Cupid. (Putti is the plural of Putto; putus is Latin for little man.)
The original Cherub was a powerful winged creature, a sentinel, in ancient semitic texts.
