Old Victoria Silver coin earrings, East India Company 1/4 Rupee coins minted in the year 1840 in India, made to earrings in Sydney with handmade Silver.
These old Victoria Silver coins are now rare and costly. They were always valuable; minted under strict controls they were always of high 91.6% Silver content, treated as a store of wealth and used in jewellery for pure prestige.
These two coins show virtually no wear; they would have been stored since their 1840 minting.
Coins 20mm across, earrings 34mm total length, light in weight at 3.3grams each.

Old Victoria Silver coin earrings, East India Company 1/4 Rupee coins minted in the year 1840 in India, made to earrings in Sydney with hand-worked Sterling Silver.
These East India Company coins were minted under strict controls and were always of very high Silver content 91.6%, highly valued throughout India and beyond as a store of wealth and, when worn in necklaces and on headdresses etc, as a sign of wealth and privilege; this coinage underpinned British business in India.
These two coins show virtually no wear, and would have been stored since being minted. Such early Victoria Silver Rupee coins are now rare and increasingly costly.
