Much costume jewellery was produced, most of it completely disposable, but there was also a distinct genre of jewellery created that sought to closely resemble items of distinction, and Silver jewellery highlighting coloured glass imitating precious and semi-precious gemstones, such as this elegant necklace, was in that genre.
