Moroccan Traditional Enamel Work: this enamelled Silver pendant is new-made, totally traditional in design, has splashes of a deep blue; the other colours -ochre, green and blue- are more commonly associated with old Tribal Berber pieces. Overall, the colours used in the old enamelled Berber jewellery are quite subdued, and very rarely display bold colours like red or deep blue.
This new-made Moroccan enamel & silver work is these days mostly crafted in Tiznit, on the southern Atlantic coast of the country, where the Anti Atlas Mountains, homelands of the Berber craftsmen, tapers down to the sea.
