Interwoven Celtic Knot motif, in a sturdy ring created and crafted in Sydney in solid 9ct White Gold. The model for this ring was handcarved in Silver in the 1990s by an Australian/Irish master bench jeweller on the commission of Christopher William to create an Interwoven Celtic Knot ring in pierced segments. The result, seen here in the above 9ct White Gold example shows clearly the fine detailing of a master jeweller.
Celtic Knot designs became popular in England in the late 1800s: a growing awareness of the beauty of the “Illustrated Manuscripts” of the monks of the early Christian settlements on the Atlantic shores of the British Isles, coupled with the Arts’n’Crafts movement, created an appreciation for these ancient designs of interconnected flowing lines that has never since waned.
Note: 3.5 grams of solid 9ct White Gold in the above ring, not Silver gold-plated, not base metal gold-plated.
