Gold 9ct Rose Handmade Ring: the profile is the pleasant “comfort” form, quite rounded on the inside edges. The band is solid all the way round, and the three holes for the gemstones have been cleanly drilled right through the band.
The rub setting of the gemstones requires the setter to push and force the Gold around the edge of each gemstone leaving each firmly set and not protruding above the line of the band.
The above Gold 9ct Rose band is Sydney work, from the bench jeweller creating this particularly pleasant Rose Gold with just the expertly judged amount of copper in the alloying and melting of the Gold, to the annealing and hammering of the Gold into an appropriately sized rod, and then drawing the rod down through drawplates to this size and “comfort” profile; finally then, there is the cutting, rounding to a ring, soldering the ring closed, polishing and making ready for the setter.
The “rub” setting of the three 3pt White Brilliant cut Diamonds is also Sydney work, executed by a Sydney-based, European-trained master-setter.
The above Sydney-handcrafted solid 9ct Rose ring contains a substantial 4.8 grams of 9ct Gold. Given the huge increase in the price of Gold over the past twelve months, as of beginning 2026, it is no wonder there is now so much fake stuff around, with base metal gold-plated masquerading as “Gold”.
