Fleur-de-Lys Silver and Gold pendant, created in Sydney, designed in Sydney, the Fleur-de-Lys motif in solid 0.6mm thick 9ct Gold, superimposed on a London-made Silver bead of plump, pleasing lentil shape.
The Fleur-de-Lys is today mostly associated with the French, who have used it heraldically since the medieaval period, but the design, based on the Lily flower, or designs very close to it, has an ancient history, dating back at least to the Achaemenids of ancient Persia, half a millenium pre-Roman.
Note: in the Fleur-de-Lys and the granule and two rings above the motif, 0.7 grams of solid 9ct Gold have been used.
Note: the 70cms long slim Silver cable chain, shown in second place in the above image gallery, weighs 5.7 grams and could be included at an extra $65.00.
