Aquamarine 4x3mm. The Ancient Romans liked the gemstone, especially prizing the bright clean sea blue. (“Aquamarine”, of course, is the combination of the Latin words for “water” and “sea”.)
The gemstone belongs to the Beryl crystal family, which includes the fabulous green Emerald, and also the lesser-known semi-precious gemstone Morganite; lesser known but quite rare and of a very lovely transparent pink colour. Morganite is not as rare as Emerald but somewhat more rare than Aquamarine. That said, Aquamarine of AGrade quality, as is the nice little above baguette, is, in the year 2023, a costly gemstone, having risen in price quite considerably in the last few years.
