94cms Silver Chain, the design taken faithfully from a late 1800s English Arts’n’Crafts chain design, and meticulously handcrafted in Sterling Silver. Very nice work; no bench jeweller in Australia capable of creating such work in continuous chain, faultless detailed and clean, would entertain the idea of making it.
Interestingly, it is becoming ever more difficult to have such work in Silver created even in countries where the value of skilled labour is not as highly priced as in Australia. Good craft is good craft, it takes time to develop and increasingly, world-wide, opportunities arise to lure younger workers away from the work benches of their parents, and their parents, sooner or later, down tools.
