1860s Victoria Silver Rupee coin, made to a tribal west India pendant; in a Silver necklace created in Sydney, with two 2-anna Silver coins of the same vintage, and sprays of Turquoise.
Total necklace weight 27.6grams, 45cms necklace length.

The Silver Rupee was made to 900+ Silver standard, and to a standard tola weight; highly prized by the tribals of Gujerat and Rajasthan, where a dozen of these 29mm round Silver coins would be worn together on one rope strand, an item of prestige and known value; the wear on this coin was caused by decades of constant use, rubbing against other such coins.
