Old Fashioned Ruby and Gold ring, but new, crafted in Sydney after a classic, very early 1900s ring, the original in 18ct Gold and set with an old-cut Diamond. The original was also set with small Diamonds in the shoulders, but again, old cut, and as with old those small old cut Diamonds of a century ago, quite darkish, whereas the four little Diamonds on the shoulders of the above Old Fashioned Ruby ring are bright white, in the modern Brilliant cut.
The Ruby in the above is a fine gemstone, of an unmistakable vibrant Ruby red, African in origin, probably Mozambique, though of a colour often associated with the better qualities of Ruby gemstone material from Thailand.
