There is, in ethnic jewellery collections around the world, usually a component of Yemen Tribal Silver; Yemen Tribal Silver jewellery was known for the high quality of the craftsmanship and for the high grade of Silver usually used. It was the work of Jewish silversmithing clans, resident in Yemen over many, many generations.
In the very late 1940s a multi-state airlift began which in time funnelled into Israel virtually the entire Jewish populations of Yemen and its surrounding states. The family of the original creators of this design settled in Haifa, and in the late 1980s a scion of the family visited Sydney for a trade fair and left here some examples of this type of filigree work.
