Old Naga Amber flanked with a couple of old small Tibetan Amber beads and four old tribal Silver handmade beads; on a slim (1.7mm thickness) flexible Silver “rope” chain.
This Amber favoured by certain Naga tribes originates in the Bay of Bengal, is always of this deep honey colour, and is said to be the hardest of all Amber. The centre bead in this necklace was the centre bead in the original Naga strand from which it came, and it was flanked by the same two thin Naga Ambers, originally. All the rest of the Naga Amber in the original necklace were in the long tubular cut.
Amber 12 grams weight, centre bead 18 to 25mm width, 24mm length; old Turkmen Silver beads 13mm and 8mm; 60cms Silver “rope” chain length.
NOTE: the big Naga Amber was the centre bead of a necklace worn constantly for a very long time, in the tribal, mountainous interior jungles of Nagaland, and has had some knocks; actually, even the knocks have been worn smooth.
