Vintage Turquoise & Silver from Bali 40 years ago, from the early 1980s, when there were still farm fields on Jalan Legian after Melasti. Mirah Silver had moved out almost to Seminyak, had thriving Silver jewellery manufacturing workshops where all the silversmiths had a deep sense of the mightiness of the Dragon, its potency and its mastery of the elements, and would work very finely on any dragon designs.
The above boar’s tusk pendant, capped with finely wrought, finely handcrafted Silver dragon heads, is a good example of Bali Silver craftsmanship of that period, and though marked with the 925 stamp of Sterling Silver, is more likely to have been worked in Silver closer to a 999 content than to 925.
Interesting also, is the slim Silver chain of the above pendant, completely handmade, facetted and hand-beaten, each link two links soldered together. Nice chain.
The Turquoise was supplied through an American customer and was probably of Arizona origin.
