Superior Turquoise Blue. The twenty-seven handcut tubular Turquoise in the above Sydney-created necklace are from one of the more than a dozen working Turquoise mines in China. As with the production of any gemstone mine anywhere, quality can vary, and some mines can consistently produce a better quality than others. Whichever of the mines is the source for these above beads, it has consistently put out over the past years this sort of excellent Turquoise blue gemstone, taking a good characteristic high waxy polish or lustre. Since 2022 it has become more difficult to source.
The barrel cut centre Turquoise in the above necklace is particularly fine.
The smaller round Turquoise beads are also genuine Turquoise, though with a slightly more greenish hue than most of the lovely tubular beads.
Note: while the ten Gold spacer segments, eight around the front, two near the clasp, are all of 20ct handmade yellow Gold, the end ring and spring clasp are 9ct Gold.
