Strawberry Quartz. This type of coloured Quartz gets it colours from inclusions of iron oxides and mica. It is different from Rose Quartz, both in the trace elements that dictate the colour, and the intensities of their respective colours. Rose Quartz is a less translucent gemstone, and its colour is very definitely a soft pink, whereas Strawberry Quartz tends to be sharper both in translucency and colour. Strawberry Quartz is said to be one of the more rare types of Quartz, though there are large deposits in Russia, and also in Brazil, the origin of the gemstone material in the above necklace.
The beads in the above are of a uniform 10mm round dimension, and all uniform in their multi-facetted cut. All the 40 beads, however, are natural Quartz Crystals and all are strongly, characteristically, included; no bead is exactly the same, and every bead differs slightly in the different hue of its colour.
