Square AGrade red Ruby, Emeralds. The Ruby and the four Emeralds are all of East African origin, the Ruby from Mozambique, the Emeralds Zambia; all  five gemstones are of high grade commercial quality, all natural gemstones, not synthetic, not man-made the colours true, the Emeralds bright green, the Ruby a deep fine red.
The ring, designed by Christopher William, is crafted in Sydney, 5.5mm wide 3-band Silver a substantial 1.8mm thick, and the setting rondel solid 9ct Gold.
The surface of the above 9ct Gold setting has been scored between the Emeralds, the neat work of the Sydney gemstone setter, creating a surface which ripples and glints about the Emeralds and Ruby, the touch of an experienced European-trained gemstone setter.
The concept of the solid 9ct Gold gemstone setting is taken quite faithfully from the top of an early 1800s gentleman’s tie pin, though the original was not as solid and robust as the above five-gemstone rondel.
