The term Neo-Classical refers to the the outpouring of jewellery designs in the latter part of the 1800s, inspired by a burgeoning interest, indeed fascination, in the ideas and artisanship of the so-called “Classical” period of Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece, an interest brought on, particularly, by an increasing number of well-publicized excavations. The above “Smart Neo-Classic” ring design, with its elegant widening at the top, neatly ridge-capped at the setting mount, was inspired by the forms of Gold Scarab rings unearthed in Egypt in the late 1800s from the tombs of ancient Pharaohs.
Cubic Zirconia (CZ) is a man-made synthetic substitute for Diamond, first commercially created in the 1950s. It certainly sparkles like a diamond.
