Slim Silver “rope” chain, 1.6mm thick, 46cms length, strung with three old Venetian glass trade beads, millefiori on black cores, and four segments of Silver beads, the plain beads London-made, the granulated beads handmade Jaipur India.
The bead section length occupies 12.5cms of the 46cm chain.
Centre Venetian glass 15x10mm dimensions. These old beads were created in the mid to late 1800s for trade into Africa, collected and admired. Even today the best source for the better qualities of these types of Venetian Glass Trade Beads is the strategically important African region of Mali and Niger, for in the 1800s all trade from the south of the continent to the Mediterranean passed through Agadez and Timbuktoo.
