Gemstone Quartz is interesting; a hard mineral, basically silica, it is the benchmark for hardness in the gemstone world: anything harder than Quartz is considered very durable, anything less hard than Quartz is considered, simply, not tough and durable. Quartz crystal has been used in jewellery since antiquity, in all its natural colours: purple Amethyst, Citrine Quartz, Smokey Quartz, Rose Quartz, clear Quartz.
The above Rose Quartz Pebbles are of Brazilian origin, translucent to a degree, full of natural inclusions, distinctly pinkish in colour. They have been tumble-polished and, though baroque in form, are a good matched pair in colour and shape.
